New range features: Modus Conference, Sito accessories, CableXpress power supply system

[10-16-2002] For Wilkhahn, designing the work environment in a simple and better way means combining clear, transparent design with meaningful innovations and perfection down to the very last detail. This aim and standard results in solutions that retain their validity for a long time.

With a view to merging continuity and change, Wilkhahn has been working not only on product development but also on the enhancement of existing product ranges. This gives Wilkhahn's customers the opportunity of keeping their furniture within one range up to date and adjusting to new requirements.

Modus Conference: elegance and calm.
Design: Werner Sauer

Since its launch, the Modus office chair family has shaped a new functional and aesthetic standard. In the course of time, additional model variations have been added to the range for more differentiation to allow demands made on design and ergonomics to be met in the most efficient manner, depending on the intended application: ranging from various office chair versions, conference chairs, cantilever chairs to luxurious executive's chairs.

Modus Conference (Design: Werner Sauer): the design of the new Modus conference chair is defined by classic elegance and calm.

With the Modus Conference line, the designer Werner Sauer has created a new, swivel conference chair to meet requirements in the high-quality, prestigious conference segment. The familiar top comfort of the Modus family is, in this case, combined with a design that is characterized by an appearance of both elegance and calm: the distinct construction, typical of Modus, comprising a frame with stretch material and elastic seat platform, is mounted on an elegant, four-rod seat bearer in die-cast aluminium. The curved armrests have been designed to team with this and are in aluminium with leather-covered pads. Last but not least, the four symmetrically arranged sections of the star base form a clear, harmonious structure for positioning at a conference table.

The finish of the aluminium surfaces is either polished or chromium-plated, depending on the design principle. The upholstery material may be selected from the entire Wilkhahn collection of fabrics and leather.

Sito - linked in rows and ready for writing.
Sito, the new cantilever chair, was launched at the beginning of 2002. The distinct, filigree design, the innovative construction, derived from bridge building, and the high degree of comfort meant considerable success for Sito within the first few months.

Sito's range of application can now be extended due to a simple, functional row connector and a specially designed writing tablet.

The row connector comprises a black plastic component, which can be attached with a mere "click" between the characteristic brace and the transverse round tube. Seat numbers are also available which are simple to insert into the recesses on the row connectors.

Sito (Design: wiege): attaching the row connector to the frame is child's play.

Wilkhahn has designed a matching writing tablet to provide a writing surface on the chair itself, for example, for use in an open forum, seminar or training layout. It can be folded up and adjusted in height to provide the optimal position for the user. The row connecting function and the stackability of all Sito models are not affected in any way by the addition of the writing tablet.
High-density hardboard, dyed black, has been used. It is fitted to the chair frame at our plant.

Sito (Design: wiege): the new, successful cantilever chair is now also available with a writing tablet.

CableXpress. In addition.
With the power supply system CableXpress, Wilkhahn has developed a simple solution, which can be added, for cable management of conference and task tables: it consists of circular, vertical linking elements and a floor element that are simply slotted together. Cables are channelled horizontally underneath the table by means of flat linking elements, attached to an aluminium rail, and a fold-down cable management box in aluminium, coated black. Screw down the rail underneath the table top, fix the linking elements onto it, insert the cables, connect equipment and store surplus cable in the cable management box - that's all. The special advantage is that cables can be channelled in any position underneath the table. Any Wilkhahn table - also when linked linearly - can be converted into a workstation and back by means of this cable management system at any time. After all, no one knows when wireless technologies will become the rule - and whether a table will one day have to serve as quite a normal conference table without any defined sitting positions.

CableXpress (Design: wiege): the modularly designed power supply system allows any table to be fitted with tailor-made cable management.
