Wilkhahn with no less than five nominations for the Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany

[03-04-2004] Frankfurt/Bad Münder. Wilkhahn honoured and delighted: five top products of the office furniture manufacturer in Bad Münder have been nominated for this distinguished Design Prize to be awarded in Germany in the field of product design and communication design.

The Design Prize of the Federal Republic of Germany is donated by the Federal Minister of Economics as the official design award of the Federal Republic of Germany. Responsibility for organizing and presenting the Prize rests with the German Design Council, Frankfurt, as the central design institution. The Prize is awarded for excellent products in the field of product design and communication design. The criteria used by the international jury include design and technical innovation, design strategy, utility value, human benefits and sustainability. What is special about the Design Prize is that the competition is only open to those entries that have been nominated for the Prize by the Ministers/Senators for Economic and Cultural Affairs of the German Länder and by the Federal Minister of Economics and Technology.

The 10-strong international jury will award three prizes only and a maximum of 18 times "highly commended". The results of the jury will be published and the prizes will be awarded in August 2004.For Wilkhahn president Dr. Jochen Hahne, the nominations alone are a satisfying confirmation of Wilkhahn's holistic design approach: "All in all, Wilkhahn has won design awards for a host of accomplishments, ranging from its corporate website, numerous products to its exhibition stand.
