| Commitment to industrial base: Wilkhahn will be exhibiting at Orgatec 2004 [05-07-2004] Bad Münder. In spite of the subdued development in the industry in general, office manufacturer Wilkhahn will be exhibiting at Orgatec 2004 in Cologne. This year's presentation will focus on innovations, the company's distinct design approach and cultivating business relations with international partners and customers. Wilkhahn's exhibition performances have an established place as one of the main attractions of the largest office furniture fair in the world. Last year, the 2002 Orgatec exhibition stand won the coveted ADAM Award as the best national exhibition stand performance in its size category. As the development in the industry is continuing to be very subdued, participation in exhibitions and resulting costs are being subjected to scrutiny. Wilkhahn feels that is now even more vital to pursue a new course. The new Orgatec concept in particular has convinced Wilkhahn management. Wilkhahn director Holger Jahnke underlines the repositioning of the exhibition as follows: "It is absolutely right and necessary to adopt a policy of appealing to wider sections of the public and of placing the focus on the importance of office design by means of an extensive supporting programme and attractive communal theme areas." For Wilkhahn it is also important to care for business relations, especially with international partners and customers who account for over 50% of the business volume. Wilkhahn president Dr. Jochen Hahne sees the importance of participating in a wider context too: "Many key innovations in the office furniture industry originated in Germany and were launched in Cologne, with our company often playing a decisive role. Contrary to the global trend in the industry, it is now more imperative than ever before to make a stand with innovative, well designed products and concepts. Seen from this point of view, our participation is a decisive commitment to the industrial base of Germany as a moving force for the office furniture industry." Concept and design are in the hands of the wiege Entwicklungsgesellschaft in Bad Münder, who were responsible for the highly successful exhibition stand in 2002 .
