Additions to the Neos chair family
The new Neos office swivel chair is characterized by simple, straightforward yet attractive design and intuitive functions. At Orgatec 2006, Wilkhahn is presenting additions to the Neos chair family to enable offices and administration buildings to be furnished in a coherent design language: office chair variations with a semi-transparent backrest membrane and a newly developed, stackable cantilever model.
Neos model group with semi-transparent backrest membrane "Dynamic sitting" is also the focal point of the new Neos models: a synchro-adjustment mechanism, specially coordinated with the lowering of the seat front, ensures that the office chair adjusts automatically to changes in posture. The newly developed backrest combines these ergonomic aspects with aesthetics: a resilient, contoured backrest comprises a membrane in semi-transparent, air-permeable, high-performance material. This allows the backrest to adjust to the widest variety of dimensionally differing body proportions, to provide optimal support and ensures pleasant ventilation for the user's back.
Neos range (design: wiege): The new models also feature all ergonomic adjustment options that can be operated whilst sitting # logically and intuitively: seat height adjustment, seat depth adjustment with automatic adjustment of the tilt of the seat wedge, height-adjustable 3-D armrests, weight adjustment by means of a crank handle (to cater for 40 - 120 kg users), backrest lockable in various tilt positions and optionally with height-adjustable lumbar support
A height-adjustable lumbar support is an optional feature that the user can operate while remaining seated. It goes without saying that the new models conform to the time-tested, ergonomic concept of Neos office chairs, characterized by understated form, high-quality down to the very last detail and simple, intuitive adjustment.
Models with flexible backrest covering combine aesthetic transparency with automatic self-adjustment of the backrest to the widest variety of dimensionally differing body proportions and sitting positions. The moulded backrest frame naturally extends the contours of the swing plates from the synchro-adjustment mechanism, thus creating a chair with a coherent design language
Neos models with flexible backrest covering will be available from the second half-year of 2007.
Neos cantilever chair: simplicity # multiplicity The basic concept of the stackable cantilever model is ingeniously simple: a single-section, clearly and coherently designed seat shell is screw-fitted in a concealed manner into a bright chromium-plated steel frame, connected by means of a contoured, bright chromium-plated outer rail in die-cast zinc. The space between the seat shell and the curved outer rail serves as a grip for easy handling and allows flexible adjustment to the user's back. In combination with the resilient frame, the result is a high degree of seated comfort.
Intelligent function of stackability: the only features that indicate that the chairs can be stacked five-high are the three dimensional curve of the frame and the v-shaped, lateral extensions of the seat shell.
Neos cantilever chair, design: wiege. One very distinctive feature is the outer rail that connects the rear-facing tube terminations of the frame structure and allows flexible adjustment of the backrest. The v-shaped, lateral extensions of the seat shell and the elegant three dimensional curve of the frame allow stackability # without any additive design elements
Consistent with the clear form of the cantilever model, the armrests comprise round sleeves in a tactile, PVC-free elastomer material.
The new multipurpose cantilever model is convincing due to clear, low-complex design, high-quality features and comfort. Its minimalist form merges well with any interior
Simple design, high-quality elegance and versatile functionality make the Neos cantilever model an ideal multipurpose chair for conference, consultation and seminar areas. The shell is available optionally with exchangeable seat and back cushions or with a non-upholstered backrest. Upholstery material may be selected from the entire Wilkhahn fabric collection.
Neos cantilever chairs will be available in 1/2007.
