Michael Englisch - Asia Pacific Tour 08 + "Travis" Product Launch [04-19-2008] Wilkhahn Asia Pacific is proud to be bringing out Michael Englisch on a whirlwind tour of Asia Pacific.  Michael whose affiliation with Wilkhahn began in 1999, is the Managing Director of Wiege design studio, an independent design and development company since 1985. Michael Englisch, born in 1961, studied Industrial design at the Fachhochschule fur Gestaltung (College of Design) Schwabisch Gmund. His diploma paper was on a laser device for material processing. He was a lecturer for CAD before joining office furniture manufacturer VOKO as a designer in 1988. In 1995, he became Head of Design and Marketing. After founding the 'industrial design' office in 1998, Michael Englisch succeeded Fritz Frenkler in 1999 and took over the management of Wiege. More than anyone else, Michael Englisch understands the design process primarily as a team task. Under his leadership, wiege developed the successful Sito Cantilever range, the prize-winning Solis and Solis F office chair ranges, the Neos office chair family, the Cura cantilever chair and the new Travis table system.  Wilkhahn Travis table range has now also been awarded the internationally coveted "red dot" of the Design Centre North Rhine-Westphalia for high design quality. 2nd July 08 - 4th July 08 @ Hong Kong and Shanghai 3 combined days in Hong Kong and Shanghai, will see Michael meeting the local A & D community, in discussion of his design philosophy and how this has resulted in the development of Travis table system. A lecture will also be delivered at the famous Tongji University in Shanghai. 7th July 08 - 20th July 08 @ Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore Similar program as above.
