Timeless, box n'blox and exclusive: Gravis, the universal storage system

[10-22-2008] For conference rooms with a high-calibre interior it is of paramount importance to team the table range with the storage furniture to create a coherent overall appearance. This is, after all, a key place for communicating corporate values: by means of the perfect functions of the storage units, first-class workmanship and well coordinated surface finishes. With Gravis, the wiege design studio has designed a range of "box n'blox" storage units to meet these very requirements.

The sideboard, available in two heights (584 / 872 mm), comprises one, two or three "cores", each 1000 mm wide. The shell, with mitre joints, consisting of side panels, a back panel, a unitary top as well as doors and door fronts, is available in all veneer finishes that are also used for Wilkhahn table ranges. A back painted coloured glass surface is also available as a "neutral" surface - if the interior is dominated by stone or high-tech materials. Due to the precise contours of the timeless box n' blox form, Gravis also teams well with all table ranges.

The outer form may be understated, yet the operation and design of the storage elements is fascinating: drawers and doors with a damped mechanism for opening and closing with finger pressure, drawers with self-closing runners, optionally with motor driven drawer extension, and a concealed, radio-wave locking system ensure highly convenient quality in use.

A depth of 600 millimetres allows easy integration of everything that is vital in a conference environment: from media control equipment and refrigerators to a retractable projection screen.

Gravis is available from early 2009.
