Stockholm Furniture Fair: Wilkhahn presents solutions for "dynamic conferencing"
[01-26-2009] The Stockholm Furniture Fair, the most important and largest furniture fair in Scandinavia, is taking place from 4 - 8 February 2009. With flexible and mobile solutions, Wilkhahn will concentrate on its internationally leading competence for furnishing dynamic conference scenarios at the fair: mobile, foldable and pivotable tables, including integration of multimedia connectivity, and light, stackable chairs combine the highest requirements in terms of quality, comfort and design with all the economic advantages of multifunctional space utilization.
Bad Münder. From 4 - 8 February, the Stockholm Furniture Fair and the Northern Light Fair, which is taking place in parallel, will present the largest and most important showcase on the theme of "furnishing" in Scandinavia. The special atmosphere, internationally leading exhibitors and the now firmly established supporting programme with the "Greenhouse" (a jury-assessed exhibition of Scandinavian design schools) and the guest appearance of an internationally acclaimed designer (this year it is Dutch designer Ineke Hans) provide an attractive platform for addressing customers and architects in Scandinavia."Wilkhahn design with its combination of sensual understatement, intelligent functionality and sustainable quality merges perfectly with Scandinavian living and working culture. We therefore have very good partners here in the form of architects, interior designers, specialist dealers and decision-takers", emphasizes Holger Jahnke, Wilkhahn Managing Partner & President International Markets.

Unique throughout the world: the solution for dynamic, multimedia conferencing The central theme of the Wilkhahn presentation is the promotion of communication and cooperation within a team, showing the dynamically changeable interplay of the mobile, foldable Confair table with state-of-the-art media technology, such as the avant-garde InterWall. What otherwise appears to be a contradiction, forms a perfect synthesis in this case: self-organized, multifunctional space utilization and excellent integration of multimedia connection points into the conference table itself. The result is a considerable reduction in costs for space, process and facility management. With the Confair range (design: Andreas Störiko), it goes without saying that due attention is paid to aesthetics too: the design classic among the folding tables is equally at home in offices focusing on creative work and on top management levels.

Meet and Eat The second scenario shows design scope for opportunities when meetings and informal dining become interspersed. Using high-quality, mobile, fold-up Timetable models (design: Andreas Störiko) and various stackable chairs, the ambience created ranges from classically modern to loose and light, depending on the combination chosen. This occasion also marks the Scandinavian premiere of Ceno, the new, stackable upholstered chair (design: Läufer + Keichel): the upholstered four-legged chair for high-quality meeting and restaurant environments combines the understated functionality of a stackable conference chair with the sensual character of a dining chair. Carefully formulated details, high-quality materials, precise workmanship and ingeniously simply joints stand for the very best in industrial design.

The Aline skid-base chair (design: Andreas Störiko), which is also a bestseller in Scandinavia, offers a gracefully transparent alternative. The compactly stackable and extremely comfortable multi-purpose chair has captured many people's hearts in numerous projects (e.g. the new Opera House in Oslo, Odense Technical College, the Media House in Odense or the German-Swedish Chamber of Commerce in Stockholm). The range, which has won some of the highest design prizes, is now also available with a bicolour covering material. Besides matching tables and bar stools, it also includes very light swivel chairs that may now optionally be fitted with a cushioned seat. With glides or in the height-adjustable version with castors, these swivel chairs are highly suitable for meeting environments, for consultation areas or also to go with a table for work and dining at home.
