The 40-year-old Head of Marketing started off in the press department of a German Federal State Ministry before changing over to marketing and making a career at various well-known international manufacturers in the field of household appliances, lighting and office furniture. In her last position she was responsible for marketing and international customer support at bene, the leading company in the Austrian office furniture sector. Ms Weber will provide new impetus by means of interdisciplinary team orientation, cross-over marketing and strengthened use of new media and international synergies. The focus will be on market-adapted sales promotion concepts and the strengthening of Wilkhahn's international brand identity.
The company is also delighted to have Kai Uwe Eckmann, a top professional in the furniture industry, on board as Head of Sales Germany. The 49-year-old 'Industriekaufmann' (industrial clerk) gained his initial sales experience in the shop fitting industry and then assumed responsibility sales territories and management at renowned manufacturers' such as Knoll International, Planmöbel and Vitra. Since 1 January, he has been responsible for Sales Germany at Wilkhahn. In Germany the company is regarded as market leader in the high-quality market segment of seating and conference interiors - a position that Kai Uwe Eckmann is to expand further. Wilkhahn Managing Partner Holger Jahnke, with overall responsibility for International Markets, regards the two new appointments as important factors in setting the future direction of the company: "We are a German company, with exports accounting for 70 percent of sales, which successfully markets "design made in Germany".
